Jon Readnour Joins DRM, Creates Condominium Law and Homeowners’ Association Practice

Burlington, VT: Attorney Jon Readnour has joined the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC and will practice from the firm’s Burlington, Vermont office. Jon brings with him a significant condominium law and homeowners’ association practice, broadening the firm’s capabilities in serving real estate developers, common interest communities and homeowners.

In private practice in Rutland, Vermont for over 35 years and as owner of his own firm for the last 15 years, Jon Readnour is a highly experienced regulatory and land use attorney, who has focused his practice on condominium law. He advises common interest community and condominium associations on a broad range of legal and management issues, including corporate governance, property and rental management disputes, contract negotiations, amendment and enforcement of condominium declarations, drafting of bylaws and rules, and construction, maintenance and environmental licensing of condominium infrastructure.

“We’re thrilled to have Jon here at DRM,” said Tim Sampson, Chair of the firm’s Business Law Group. “He has spent over forty years in the practice of law, first in the areas of energy and environmental regulation and then in condominium law. He brings tremendous value to our clients, adding a key component to our service offerings.”

Jon Readnour’s move to DRM creates a new condominium law and homeowners’ association practice within the firm. Working closely with Jon on the build-out of this practice is real estate and land use attorney, Alexis Peters.

“I’m excited to work with Tim and Alexis – and the rest of the DRM team – on the deployment of this practice,” said Jon. “To be successful in this field, it’s necessary to know the ins and outs of certain environmental regulations, as well as zoning and permitting laws. Alexis has an impeccable understanding of these subjects and I’m delighted to work with her to build and expand this practice.”
