Congratulations to Sue Bette on being named as one of “the most influential restaurant executives in the country” by the Nation’s Restaurant News. Sue is seen here recognized as number 12 out of 98 nationwide honorees. The owner of Burlington, Vermont’s Bluebird Barbecue restaurant, Sue has been a fierce and tireless advocate for securing COVID-19 relief aid to independent restaurants – not just hers but everyone’s. As Sue knows, the federal Restaurant Revitalization Fund program (RRF) ran out of money and shut down suddenly in May 2021 before many restaurants, including hundreds of eligible and qualifying Vermont establishments, received any. She has been fighting ever since for Congress to replenish the RRF. Thanks to Nation’s Restaurant News for recognizing a very worthy Vermont restaurateur and activist. Here is a story by Nation’s Restaurant News on the status of that replenishment effort. Restaurant Revitalization Fund efforts ramp up again (nrn.com)
