The current state of economic uncertainty is causing some employers to consider reductions-in-force or other layoffs. Many tech companies have made headlines as they have begun to lay off significant portions of their workforces. As other employers may start to consider their own workforce reductions, ensuring that any RIFs or layoffs are correctly conducted is critical. Both federal and state law govern workforce reductions and carry considerable risks with significant consequences.
