Experienced labor and employment attorney, guiding clients toward solutions that minimize legal risk and foster respectful work environments.
Alexa advises companies on matters related to hiring, worker classification, performance management, termination, accommodations, wage and hour laws, and leaves of absence. She is an Association of Workplace Investigators Certificate Holder (AWI-CH) and is retained to conduct workplace investigations related to employee misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Alexa trains and counsels companies on their internal investigative processes.
Alexa also monitors compliance with employment-related settlement agreements. She has been selected as an independent compliance monitor to oversee a major franchise operator’s compliance with a multi-year consent decree to settle a sex discrimination and retaliation lawsuit filed by federal and state agencies. She represents employers facing audits or complaints before state and federal government agencies. Alexa drafts and reviews executive employment agreements, separation agreements, employee handbooks, policies, and agreements that protect businesses’ valuable assets. She is frequently called upon by clients and local organizations to speak on a variety of human resources topics and employment law developments. She is admitted to practice law in Vermont, New Hampshire, and California.
When not in the office, Alexa enjoys Vermont’s vibrant community and staying active on its lakes and mountains.
