Attorney Emily Garrett has joined the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC.

Before coming to DRM, Emily worked in the Real Estate Investments and Transactions Group at Ropes & Gray in Boston, Massachusetts, where she advised clients on potential liabilities under federal and state environmental, health and safety laws, particularly CERCLA, RCRA, and the Clean Water/Clean Air Acts.

“We are thrilled to welcome Emily to our dynamic team”, said Tim Sampson, Chair of DRM’s Complex Development and Land Use Group. “Emily’s impressive background in the Real Estate Investments and Transactions Group, at Ropes, coupled with her expertise in advising clients on complex environmental, health, and safety laws, makes her an invaluable addition to DRM and our team.”

Emily obtained her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 2021, having graduated from Notre Dame in 2018 with a B.A. in English and Gender Studies. Emily interned with Chief Justice Kimberly Budd at the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, as well as with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. She is based in DRM’s Burlington office.
