Versatile and experienced civil litigator
Christian represents a wide range of clients through all phases of the litigation process, including through motion practice, discovery, mediation and arbitration, trial, and appeal. His practice includes a particular emphasis on land use, zoning, environmental regulation, torts, and employment. Building on the skills he developed through a two-year clerkship with Chief Justice Paul Reiber at the Vermont Supreme Court, Christian regularly argues cases before state and federal courts in Vermont and beyond.
Additionally, he has extensive experience with other litigation-related venues, such as state and local boards, commissions, and committees. While Christian’s practice is based in Vermont, he additionally represents clients with legal matters throughout Massachusetts.

Experience
- Obtained favorable settlement for homeowner in real estate partition action, reducing litigation costs and ensuring continued complete ownership of home.
- Navigated environmental and permitting issues to obtain amendment to existing subdivision for homeowner before local development review board.
- After repeated refusal, secured payment from condominium owner to contractor for full condominium renovation.
- Successfully moved for dismissal of Vermont Consumer Protection Act claim against homeowner and landlord for alleged “unfair or deceptive acts or practices in commerce” brought by tenant claiming partial ownership of property.
