A Vermont agri-preneur helps small Vermont maple syrup producers get their product to national markets at a time when syrup production and marketing is “mega-sizing.” Maple sugaring now involves massive tapping operations, and a huge national bulk syrup market. The traditional small syrup producers are caught in between. They don’t produce enough to sell into the national bulk syrup market but produce too much to do their own bottling, marketing, and distribution. What are those small producers to do? They can talk to Vermonter Cory Krieg, who will market the syrup for them via the cooperative selling model he’s developed.
