The DRM Food & Beverage Law Blog congratulates Lawson’s Finest Liquids on winning the prestigious Deane C. Davis Award for 2021 as the “Outstanding Vermont Business of the Year.”
Lawson’s Finest Liquids wins Deane Davis Business of the Year Award | Vermont Business Magazine (vermontbiz.com) The Deane C. Davis recognition is given to one business per year by The Vermont Chamber of Commerce and Vermont Business Magazine in recognition of a business’s financial success and growth, its commitment to Vermont’s uniqueness, and its contribution to the Vermont community. Lawson’s exemplifies all of that with its many civic and charitable engagements and donations. There is no better example of that than Lawson’s Social Impact Program (SIP) which you can read about here: Lawson’s Social Impact Programs (SIP). Plus, of course, they make some of the world’s best beer for all of us to enjoy – which is a form of corporate responsibility and community engagement by itself! Congrats to Sean, Karen, and the team at Lawson’s.
The Vermont Brewers Association is jam-packed with 65 member-breweries who are doing great things in and for their communities. 14th Star Brewing in St. Albans just launched it Forget Me Not beer to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. Drop-In Brewery in Middlebury supports the American Brewers Guild which educates and trains aspiring master brewers. Fiddlehead Brewery in Shelburne donates 25% of sales from its beloved Mastermind double IPA to charitable causes such as the UVM Children’s Hospital. Each year Harpoon Brewery in Windsor donates to New England charities through its Harpoon Helps program. The Alchemist in Stowe, in addition to being recognized for its commitment to the environment, is committed to the values of diversity, inclusion, and equity through its collaboration with the Vermont Partnership. Von Trapp Brewery in Stowe supplies clean solar energy to the Stowe Electric Department via its massive roof-mounted solar collectors. And Zero Gravity in Burlington is doing its part to save habitat in Vermont for a cherished bird species: Saving Bobolink Habitat.
These are just a few examples of the many Vermont breweries who are engaging with the community and giving back, and the myriad of ways in which they are doing it.
Thanks and congratulations to all!
