Required action.

All risk retention groups domiciled in Vermont are required to take action with respect to the registration requirements of the Holding Company Act by applying for an exemption from registration or making the registration.

The current due date for such compliance is April 30, 2012.

This DRM Captive Insurance Bulletin provides a summary of Holding Company Act provisions, including determining whether the RRG is part of an “insurance holding company system” or qualifies for exemption from registration, as well as basic Holding Company Act compliance obligations for RRGs.
