Records Clerk
Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC (DRM) – one of northern New England’s largest law firms – is seeking a Records Clerk to join our team in our off-site warehouse facility in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. For this temporary position, the ideal candidate will perform tasks such as reviewing, retrieval and the destruction of records and may also perform a variety of other duties as assigned. This position communicates regularly with records staff and observes confidentiality of client and Firm matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works with the Manager of Library and Research and the Conflicts and Records Management Coordinator to address files in the warehouse.
- Performs physical file inventory in the warehouse.
- Responsible for assisting with locating, retrieving, and destroying physical files, including recording location and destruction dates in inventory system.
- Work on finalizing the disposition of the Return to Client files including contacting the client as needed and arranging for the return.
- Clerical support for file disposition, as/if needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to operate a computer including proficient use of Outlook, Excel and ability to learn other software as needed.
- Flexibility to adapt to constantly changing schedule and workflow.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work with multiple supervisors in a team-based environment.
- Willingness to work independently at offsite storage facility.
- Ability to complete assignments and meet time-sensitive deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Ability to uphold firm standards and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good analytical skills.
- Ability to lift 30 – 40 pounds.
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Valid Driver’s License.
