Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC—one of Northern New England’s largest law firms—is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized individual to fill the position of Conflicts Administrator.
The conflicts check process ensures that there is no conflict of interest with a potential client and is an integral part of attorney professional obligations. The Analyst will conduct conflicts searches, review search results and process completed searches following specific guidelines and business rules. This diverse position will also assist with the Firm’s attorney licensing/dues functions, continuing legal education tracking, library invoice processing and records maintenance.
The DRM office location option for this position includes Burlington, VT, St. Johnsbury, VT, Brattleboro, VT or Lebanon, NH. A hybrid arrangement will be considered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct conflict searches for new business and new attorneys using the firm’s database
- Analyze and communicate search results to requestors
- Monitor ongoing and outstanding conflicts searches
- Assist with the process of completing and closing conflicts
- Assist with attorney licensing and dues functions
- Assist with maintaining records management system, ensuring all records are properly filed and easily accessible
- Process library invoices and assist with other library functions
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with MS Office, experience with Access or similar databases is a plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to learn software applications quickly
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Associate’s degree and experience in either a professional services or corporate setting (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Periodic travel to other DRM offices within Vermont and New Hampshire
