Two New Associates Join Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC

(BURLINGTON, Vt.)  Attorneys at Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC in Vermont and New Hampshire have welcomed two new associates to the firm. Samantha Lednicky has joined the firm’s Litigation Practice Group and Benjamin J. Traverse has joined the Labor and Employment Group. Both will practice primarily in the Burlington office.

Traverse comes to the firm with three years of experience as an assistant corporation counsel in the labor and employment division of the New York City Law Department. After passing the Vermont bar, Traverse spent more than a year as a law clerk in Vermont Superior Courts serving Chittenden, Addison, Windsor and Orange Counties. He earned a bachelor’s degree at George Washington University and graduated from the Brooklyn Law School in New York City, cum laude, in June, 2011. Traverse and his family live in Burlington, where he serves as a member of the Burlington Housing Board of Review.

Lednicky graduated from the University of Vermont in 2011 and from the Northeastern University School of Law in Boston in May. She has worked in a number of capacities within the criminal justice system. As an undergraduate at UVM, she interned in the public defender’s office and in UVM’s student legal services, and was a research assistant at the Woodside Juvenile Rehabilitation Center. In law school she worked in two legal clinics focused on prisoner’s rights, civil rights, and restorative justice in Massachusetts and interned at both a Burlington, Vt., criminal defense and family law firm and in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont.
