Kohler Rejoins Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC
(Burlington, VT) Telecommunications attorney Elizabeth L. Kohler is rejoining the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC. Kohler will serve Of Counsel in the Burlington office, working in the firm’s Energy and Telecommunications Group. Kohler previously worked for the firm as an associate from 1994-1995.
“We are delighted to welcome Beth back to the firm and to the Energy and Telecom Group,” said firm Managing Partner Paul Ode. “Beth is held in high regard within the telecommunications industry, and the firm and our clients will greatly benefit from her many accomplishments since she was last here.”
Since leaving the firm in the mid-90s, Kohler has held a succession of increasingly responsible positions in the telecommunications industry, and she is known throughout the industry for her work. In ten years at the Rural Cellular Corporation, known as Unicel, she rose from assistant general counsel to vice president of legal services, where she managed an office of three attorneys, paralegals and staff, overseeing all legal operations, advising the company on numerous corporate financings and SEC filings.
Most recently, she has worked at Verizon Wireless in Colchester as senior counsel for the northeast area, advising senior management on legal matters ranging from commercial real estate transactions to intellectual property and consumer protection matters, and twice provided legal support for multi-billion dollar acquisitions by the company.
A graduate of Boston College and the Northeastern University School of Law, Kohler is admitted to practice in Vermont and Massachusetts. She resides in Underhill.
