Grand Isle, VT Balloon Test
Balloon Test for AT&T / FirstNet in Grand Isle, VT on August 22
New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC (“AT&T”) proposes to install a 140’ monopole telecommunications tower at 41 Lovers Lane, Grand Isle, Vermont, owned by Mark & Evan Cobb (Parcel ID: 030251) as stated in the Advance Notice dated August 15, 2019. The Project will allow capabilities for FirstNet, a nationwide interoperable network for first responders, as well as improving AT&T coverage in Grand Isle and the Champlain Islands.
A balloon test for the proposed Facility was conducted on Thursday, August 22, 2019, between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. The balloon was flown at a height of 140’ in order to produce photo simulations documenting the project’s visibility. Photographic simulations, together with a viewshed analysis, are now available for downloading here:
Hard copies of the simulations and viewshed are being provided to municipal entities in the Town of Grand Isle and to the Regional Planning Commission. If you would like your own hard copy of the simulations, please contact Tina Rabideau.
