Jennifer Hollar Rejoins Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC

November 23, 2009

(Montpelier)  Jennifer P. Hollar of Montpelier will return to the Government and Public Affairs Group at Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC this fall after a four-year hiatus.  As a legislative coordinator, she will work as a lobbyist for the firm’s legislative clients and assist in managing the practice.  She began work in the Montpelier office on Nov. 2.

“Jennifer previously worked with the legislature for a number of years and was widely respected by legislators, agency officials and fellow lobbyists,” said External Affairs Manager Joseph L. Choquette III, who co-manages the practice with John Hollar.  “She is at a point in her career where she can be available to us full-time during the session again, and we are all very enthused that Jennifer is back on the team.”

DRM associate William L. “Trey” Martin, a Montpelier resident, will also join the DRM legislative affairs team this winter. Outside of his work in the legislature, Martin practices in the firm’s Business Law Practice Group.

Jennifer Hollar holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Middlebury College and a master’s in public administration from George Washington University.  She held several positions at the National Center for Municipal Development in Washington, where she lobbied in Congress and among federal agencies on behalf of cities and towns before returning to her home town in 1990.  She has worked in the Vermont Department of Housing and Community Affairs and for the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board.  She worked as a lobbyist in the Law Office of John Hollar in Montpelier until both John and Jennifer Hollar joined DRM in 2004.  She left the firm in 2005 for family reasons, and has been an independent consultant since then.
