Chambers USA 2008 Ranks Twelve DRM Attorneys as Leaders in Vermont

(Burlington, Vt.) Chambers USA 2008 has recognized twelve attorneys at Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC as “Leading Business Lawyers” and placed DRM in the top tier in all five practice areas the organization ranks in Vermont. Selections were based on extensive research, including peer and client evaluations, and published commentary includes quotations from clients that “sum up the prevailing opinion of the market,” says Chambers.

Real estate attorney R. Prescott Jaunich, litigator Walter E. Judge Jr. and intellectual property attorney Lawrence H. Meier, all of whom are based in the firm’s Burlington office, are new to this year’s guide. They join founder and senior director Robert D. Rachlin and eight other DRM attorneys that have been listed in the prestigious directory multiple years.

The attorneys and the category of law in which they were ranked are Kathleen H. Davis, corporate/commercial law: captive insurance; Marc B. Heath, litigation; Johan W. E. Maitland, labor and employment law; Thomas H. Moody, corporate/commercial law; Paul H. Ode Jr., corporate/commercial law; Peter B. Robb, labor and employment law; Patricia M. Sabalis, labor and employment law; and William W. Schroeder, real estate law.

“As one of the largest practices in the state,” editorial remarks from Chambers USA 2008 conclude, “this firm continues to grow with the addition of a new branch in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Led by Robert Luce, the team of ‘first-rate attorneys’ in this litigation practice offers a ‘quality and breadth of service that can rival firms in New York and Boston.’ ” In addition to the firm’s litigation practice, the guide ranks the corporate/commercial business law, captive insurance, labor and employment, and real estate practice areas in the top tier of Vermont law firms. “This firm offers ‘one of the most wide-ranging practices in the state,’ fielding lawyers with diverse skills and experience,” Chambers says.

DRM, with more than 85 attorneys and legal professionals in seven offices in Vermont, New Hampshire and New York, provides legal services to local, national and international clients in practice areas that include litigation, business law, labor and employment, captive insurance, environmental law, trust and estates, family law, tax law, public utilities, real estate, health care, intellectual property, creditors rights, venture capital and insurance defense.
