October 06, 2008

(Burlington, VT)  Caryn E. Waxman, an attorney and vice chair of the Family Law Group at Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, together with DRM family law paralegal Leslie Mooney, will speak at a day-long seminar on family law offered by the Vermont Paralegal Organization. The seminar, which is open both to member and non-member paralegals, will be held October 15 at GE Healthcare in South Burlington.

Waxman has practiced law, concentrating her practice in family law matters, since 1996. A skilled litigator with extensive experience handling complex matrimonial actions involving high asset divorce clients, she works to reduce conflict and create long-term sustainable solutions in what often appear to be insurmountable circumstances. Waxman, a graduate of George Washington University and Vermont Law School, will present on the topic of “Child Support Guidelines, Calculations, Enforcement and Collections” at the seminar. She also will be one of two attorneys participating in a panel intended to provide information to help paralegals better understand and assist with divorce cases.

Mooney has worked as a paralegal in several areas of law, focusing her practice in family law for the past five years. In her presentation, “Client Intake/Interviews,” she will provide a general overview of the areas, in addition to divorce and child custody/support, that are included in most family law practices, as well as initial intake/interview procedures. Mooney earned a Bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College and a certificate in paralegal studies from Woodbury College.
