Family Law
While admittedly not a particularly romantic process, the purpose of a prenuptial agreement is to contemplate the possibility of a divorce and to define in advance the resolution of certain issues in order to avoid litigation at a later time. Pre-nuptial agreements are particularly useful when one party or both parties are bringing something of substantial value in the form of assets, investments and/or real or personal property into the marriage.
DRM's divorce and family law attorneys are experienced with complicated, high-asset pre-nuptial agreements. Where extremely challenging matters are involved, we’ll assemble a team that may include attorneys from DRM’s real estate, estate planning, business law, taxation and other relevant practices.
Both matrimonial and financial matters are highly personal and often emotionally charged. Knowing what to expect in the course of a legal matter can help ease the stress. When you entrust your case to us, we strive to keep you fully informed about the status of your case and to make sure you know what to expect.
Caryn Waxman and Amber Barber, co-chairs of our family law team, have each practiced family law exclusively for more than a dozen years. Both are regularly invited to address lawyers and other professionals on divorce matters and related complex financial issues, as well as other family law topics.
Keenly aware of the emotionally-charged nature of most family law issues, our family law team responds rapidly to clients’ needs, making every effort to ensure that you are informed about the status of your case and what steps are to be taken next.
