Karen Jeffer is an intellectual property paralegal in the firm’s Burlington Office. In this capacity, she assists the Intellectual Property Group with the preparation, filing and prosecution of patent and trademark applications and ensures that issued patents and registered trademarks are properly maintained. Karen facilitates the completion of formal documents, including declarations, assignments and powers of attorney, working with clients and attorneys to streamline the process. She corresponds with foreign associates regarding patent and trademark foreign application filings and formalities and monitors and coordinates the payment of foreign patent annuities with clients, annuity services and foreign associates.
As a docket manager, Karen oversees the docketing of all deadlines for both patents and trademarks, including incoming and outgoing correspondence with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and with foreign associates. She monitors the status of all pending and issued patents and all pending and registered trademarks. Karen also assists in preparing and filing copyright applications with the U.S. Copyright Office.
Community Involvement
Karen is an active member of her church and participates in many church community and volunteer programs. She sings with the church’s choir and quartet, also performing solos and accompanying on piano.
