Jamie Gallagher is a registered patent attorney. He works with a wide variety of clients in diverse technology areas, including chemical, mechanical and computer arts. Prior to joining DRM, Jamie was an associate attorney with an intellectual property law firm in Stamford, Conn., where he focused on the preparation of patent non-infringement and validity opinions, particularly in the consumer products area.
Jamie’s education and background in science and technology enable him to assist clients with a wide variety of intellectual property needs, including preparation and prosecution of patent applications, with emphasis on chemical compositions, semiconductors, business method, software and other computer-related inventions. Jamie prepares patentability, non-infringement and validity opinions and assists clients with other patent, trademark and copyright issues. He also provides analysis and patent litigation support in patent infringement matters.
Professional Activities
Before attending law school, Jamie taught high school chemistry in North Carolina. During this time he was also a corps member of Teach for America, Inc., a program that places and supports talented college graduates and professionals in schools in the pursuit of educational excellence and equity. Subsequently, he worked for an innovation development company assisting a leading consultant and advocate for high technology companies participating in the Small Business Innovation Research program.
Later, Jamie became the director of information technology for a Vermont secondary education facility where he led the development of an integrated IT infrastructure. While in law school, Jamie served as technology editor for Vermont Law Review and spent a semester studying intellectual property law at Franklin Pierce Law Center.
