Practice Focus
Compliance and risk management: Craig Miskovich provides compliance and risk management advice to clients with respect to, among other things, involuntary mental health treatment applications and procedures, false claims act compliance and investigations, Medicare/Medicaid investigations, state legislative issues and professional responsibility complaints.
Healthcare and educational information: Craig helps clients respond to requests for healthcare and education information in civil and criminal matters and draft business associate agreements. In addition, Craig helps clients manage their healthcare and education information and policies in compliance with state and federal law including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patient Records (42 CFR Part 2) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Financial services law: Craig represents a variety of clients in commercial finance and development transactions, including buyers, sellers and lenders.
Craig was a member of DRM’s cross-practice ARRA-Stimulus team, which monitored and interpreted federal and state developments related to the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act. He comprehensively reviewed the healthcare provisions within the Act and assisted clients to comply with the changes to federal health information privacy laws associated with ARRA.
Professional Activities
Craig teaches Law and the Internet in the Marlboro College Graduate Center’s Master of Science in Management program.
Community Involvement
Craig serves as chairman of the Brattleboro Development Review Board and is a member of the board of directors of the Meeting Waters YMCA and the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce.
