Practice Focus

Tom Csatari has built a strong reputation, based on years of experience and depth of practice, in estate planning and probate administration, health law and corporate and commercial law.

For the past ten years, Tom has focused his practice mainly in the area of trust and estate planning. He advises clients on a wide variety of estate planning tools, including traditional A/B trust tax savings strategies, charitable remainder unitrusts, qualified personal residence trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts and family limited liability companies. In addition, he has had substantial involvement in complex probate administration and, when needed, related litigation.

Having served for 12 years as in-house counsel at a non-profit healthcare system that included a teaching hospital offering tertiary care and a suburban community hospital, Tom has handled all aspects of law related to the provision of hospital services. He understands, from an insider’s perspective, the corporate, regulatory, risk management and medical staff issues that hospitals and healthcare systems face in today’s challenging and competitive environment.

Tom also provides general business advice to clients on a wide variety of corporate and commercial transactions including financing transactions, asset purchase transactions, office building leases and real estate transfers. He has reviewed, drafted and negotiated contracts; worked with senior officers to develop corporate bylaws, policies and mission statements; and advised non-profit organizations on real estate tax exemption compliance and litigation.

Professional Activities

Tom practiced law with Daschbach, Csatari & Young, PLLC and its predecessor for 10 years before that firm joined with DRM in 2007. He returned to New England after acting as general counsel for Methodist Hospitals of Dallas for more than 12 years. Previously, he held positions as assistant and associate college counsel at Dartmouth College.

Community Involvement

Tom is a trustee at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire. He serves as the moderator for the Hanover School District, the Dresden School District and the Church of Christ at Dartmouth College.

Previously, Tom served as a director and president of David's House, Inc., a home-away-from-home for families of children receiving treatment at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, as a director of the Upper Valley Habitat for Humanity and as an assistant football coach at Hanover High School.
