Practice Focus

Bob Miller represents private businesses and public utilities in complex litigation matters in federal and state courts, as well as before Vermont administrative agencies. Bob advises local and regional clients on federal antitrust issues as well as trade regulation issues arising under Vermont law.

Significant Matters

Over the years, Bob has represented clients in a broad array of civil and commercial litigation matters.  He has represented potentially responsible parties at federal and state Superfund sites in the Northeast and has participated in both the negotiation of consent decrees and the trial to verdict of government cost recovery and private contribution actions.  In recent years, he has also practiced extensively before the Vermont Public Service Board, representing clients in contested cases involving the sale of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station and subsequent permitting applications, an interconnection-agreement dispute between telephone companies and the merger and sale of local telephone companies.

Professional Activities

Bob worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Karen L. Henderson, U.S. District Court, District of South Carolina (1986-1987) and for the Honorable Robert F. Chapman, U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit (1985-1986).

Community Involvement

Bob has served on a number of boards for religious and child-care non-profit organizations.  He enjoys involvement in the scholastic and athletic activities of his children.
