Marie B. Whitbeck

Marie Whitbeck, R.N. is a senior paralegal and legal nurse consultant with DRM. Her practice concentrates in personal injury litigation with emphasis on the representation of traumatic brain injury victims and their families. Her nursing experience includes medical and pediatric work at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont from 1981-1983 and bone marrow transplants and pediatric chemotherapy at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from 1983-1986. She worked previously as a legal nurse consultant with the firm of Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker in the area of medical malpractice. She has been with DRM for more than fifteen years.

Marie assists clients in regard to treatment options, insurance coverage and managing the stress of litigation. She is adept at case evaluation and participates in developing and implementing case strategy.

Marie serves as the firm’s litigation paralegal coordinator, a position she has held since 1993. She has presented at seminars on personal injury litigation, including seminars directed to paralegals, attorneys and traumatic brain injury survivors and their families. She is widely respected for her knowledge of medical issues, her management of personal injury cases and her client counseling skills.

Marie has served as treasurer of the Vermont Chapter of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants, as a member of the board of directors of the Shelburne Children’s Center and as a United Way campaign coordinator.
