During his last ten years in private practice he has advised clients on a wide variety of estate planning tools, including traditional A/B trust tax savings strategies, charitable remainder unitrusts, qualified personal residence trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts and family limited liability companies. In addition, he has had substantial involvement in complex probate administration and, when needed, related litigation.

Tom is also an experienced healthcare lawyer. He developed specialized skills in this area while serving as in-house counsel for major non-profit education and healthcare institutions and has handled the diverse legal issues facing such organizations including local, state and federal regulations, corporate governance issues, risk management, tax exemption standards and employment and medical staff issues.

Tom also provides general business advice to clients, including a wide variety of commercial transactions, including financing transactions and asset purchase transactions.
