Megan Ludwig focuses her practice in the areas of public utilities and environmental law.
Significant Matters
Megan concentrates her practice on matters before the Public Service Board arising under Section 248 of Title 30 of the Vermont Statutes Annotated. Megan assists in representation of the Vermont Electric Power Company, Inc. (VELCO), Vermont’s bulk electric transmission provider, in major dockets concerning transmission reliability upgrades. Megan is currently representing VELCO in connection with the proposed Southern Loop Project, a 51-mile transmission line project in Southern and Central Vermont. Megan also participates in cases involving Vermont’s gas, telecommunications and cable utilities.
Professional Activities
Before joining DRM, Megan practiced environmental and land use law at Sive, Paget & Riesel, P.C. in New York City. While in law school, Megan served on the board of the New York University Environmental Law Journal and participated in a clinical program at the Natural Resources Defense Council. She spent a summer as an intern at the National Coalition Against Censorship, where she performed research on First Amendment issues.
Community Involvement
Megan serves on the steering committee for the Vermont Drinking Water Week, a week-long celebration of water and the local water operators who work behind the scenes to provide safe drinking water to our communities.
