Practice Focus
After acquiring a foundation in corporate and securities law early in her career, Jamie Fitzgerald has focused her practice on trademarks for more than thirty years. She got her start in intellectual property when she was recruited by Playboy Enterprises in Chicago. She has extensive experience resolving infringement and other acts of unfair competition for her clients, among them a venerable and world-famous manufacturer of ceramics and a well known Internet travel service.
Fortunate to be in on the ground floor in the rapidly evolving field of cyberlaw and the Internet in the 1990’s, Jamie vigorously pursues cybersquatters, counterfeiters and infringers for a wide variety of clients, often by means of the Uniform Domain Name Resolution proceedings, a particularly efficient weapon for disabling infringers. Jamie's 24/7 trademark practice also includes all aspects of trademark counseling, infringement, counterfeiting and unfair competition in the U.S. and worldwide.
Jamie has a substantial foreign trademark prosecution practice, particularly in the European Community, provides opinions on the availability of marks and manages trademark portfolios with the assistance of DRM’s IP paralegal team. She handles trademark disputes, including appellate and inter partes proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, the federal courts, the U.S. Supreme Court and, increasingly, the World Intellectual Property Organization on a daily basis.

Before moving to Vermont, Jamie was a partner in two of Connecticut’s top law firms as well as an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law. Jamie has longstanding relationships with many colleagues in the trademark field worldwide.
